YOU don’t need to go to university and get a fancy qualification to get a high-paying job.

The best-paying non-office jobs all have typical salaries above £30,000 – and you don’t need to go to university.

In the highest-paying roles, you can scoop an average of £50,000 a year.

James Neave, head of data science at job site Adzuna, said:Whether you are looking for a white-collar, blue-collar or grey-collar job, there are plenty of options with great salaries that don’t require a degree.

“More employers nowadays are recognising the value of skills which are either self-taught or learnt on the job, and they are willing to look beyond formal education qualifications when assessing candidates.

“Jobseekers without a degree should highlight their accomplishments throughout their career and the practical skills that are relevant to the job ad in their CVs.

“Consider emphasising industry certifications and job-related training as well.” 

Top of the list is an air traffic controller with an average advertised salary of £52,961, according to Adzuna.

Solar installers can expect a wage of £46,190, while construction workers take home around £44,770.

You also don’t need a degree to be a pilot and an average wage is just over £40,000.

Bricklayers are in demand and earn around £38,000.

For some of these roles, you will need specialist training.

But in many cases, you can start as an apprentice on the job or through a training programme to earn while you learn.

For example, there are apprentice jobs for air traffic controllers, as well as bricklayers and florists.
