Marketing, sales and advertising directors were next on the list, earning an average of £91,818,

This is different to last year, when the second-highest paid jobs were legal professionals earning an average of £92,606 a year.

Meanwhile, financial managers and directors came third with an average yearly salary of £91,853.

The figures come from data published today by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), as part of its Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings.

The ONS told The Sun coronavirus lockdown and furlough caused volatility in the ASHE results for 2020 and 2020.

This means any annual changes to the salaries should be taken with a pinch of salt.

For example, according to the data, senior officers in fire, ambulance and prison services received a 28.8% increase in wages from 2021 to £63,591 on average in 2022, meaning they came in 10th on the list.

This represented the biggest change from the previous year.

On the other side of the spectrum, leisure and theme park attendants were the lowest paid at an average of £14,064 a year.

This represented a drop of 20.6%, although once again, keep in mind the pandemic has skewed the numbers.

The hospitality sector was also found at the bottom, with waiters and waitresses coming in second at £16,568 a year.

While bar staff earned just £131 more a year at £16,699.

Other jobs found in the 20 lowest-paid roles were teaching assistants, hairdressers, retail workers as well as cleaners.

The 20 lowest-paid roles ranged in average yearly salaries from £14,064 to £20,592.

This particular research doesn’t take into account part-time workers or those who’ve been in their jobs for less than a year.

The yearly estimates are for the tax year that ended on April 5, 2022.

The UK was first put in lockdown in March 2020.

The second one was announced on October 31 and then came into effect on November 5.
