If you aren’t shopping Amazon Prime Day with a specific product in mind—maybe you’re looking for holiday gifts for the whole family—it can quickly get overwhelming and pricey. Thankfully, there are quite a few options under $50 to choose from. We’ve narrowed down some of the best we’ve seen from Amazon and other stores, and we’ll be updating this as the sale goes on.
Note: We strike through items that sell out or rise in price as we update this guide. Discounts sometimes return quickly, so check for yourself. You’ll need a subscription to Amazon Prime to get most of these deals.
Updated October 13: We struck out two sold-out deals, and added new ones, like the Mandalorian Echo Dot.

-
C by GE Smart Room Starter Pack for $35 ($15 off) at Best Buy: We like all the C by GE products we’ve tested, and this bundle gets you four soft white smart bulbs and a smart plug for a pretty good price. They work with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
-
C by GE Smart Plug for $10 ($9.50 Off): If you aren’t in the market for smart bulbs, you can also get the C by GE smart plug. It’s simple to use and also works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
-
TP-Link Kasa Smart Plug HS103 for $9 ($5 off): WIRED Associate Editor Julian Chokkattu has several of these plugs around his home to control his lamps, and he says they rarely give him trouble. You can control them with Google Assistant or Amazon’s Alexa.
-
Lenovo Smart Clock for $40 ($40 off) at Best Buy: Lenovo’s Smart Clock is nice for the bedroom with its 4-inch display and alarm clock functionality. Though the screen is smaller than other smart displays, it can do almost anything other Google Assistant devices can do.
-
Echo Show 5 for $45 ($45 off): We prefer Google Assistant to Alexa, but this is the best price we’ve ever seen for Amazon’s smaller smart-home display, the Echo Show 5. You can opt to include a free one-year subscription to Food Network Kitchen, a service we’ve reviewed that offers a myriad of tips and recipes.
-
Fitbit Aria Smart Scale for $35 ($15 off): I’m not a fan of scales, but it’s sometimes useful to track your weight. Fitbit’s smart scale is now considerably cheaper than when we first reviewed it.
-
TP-Link Kasa Soft White Filament Smart Bulb for $14 ($3 off): This bulb has a unique vintage look to it, good if you have lamps that put the bulb on display. It is only a dimmable white, so if color options are important to you, you may want to wait for other bulbs to go on sale. It works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
-
Echo Dot (3rd Gen) + Lifx Smart Bulb for $19 ($40 off):This Echo Dot is now one generation behind the latest and greatest, but it’s still a capable little speaker. The smart-bulb model included here isn’t in our list of the best, but I like this brand a lot, and they’re typically quite expensive, so the free bulb is a nice surprise. You can control the bulb with the Dot you’re getting.
