Billionaire says ‘there is nothing I hate more’ than cutting staff as more than 10% of workforce to be affected
Tesla is reportedly laying off more than 10% of its global workforce, equivalent to at least 14,000 roles.
The electric carmaker’s chief executive, Elon Musk, said he had made “the difficult decision to reduce our headcount by more than 10% globally”, in a memo reported by the online publication Elektrek. Tesla employs 140,473 people, according to its annual report.
