TESCO customers are unable to access the supermarket’s website and app after it crashed for the second time in a week.
According to the Downdetector website, 1,128 customers had reported Tesco outages this afternoon.
The grocer said on Twitter that it is “experiencing some issues with the website at the moment” and apologised for the inconvenience.
It said the issues are being investigated and advised shoppers to try and log in later today.
The supermarket’s website and app both crashed on Saturday due to a hacking attempt, with the outages running until Monday.
Tesco said the earlier outage followed an attempt to “interfere” with its systems, but no customer data was compromised.
It’s not clear what’s caused the latest problems but Tesco confirmed on Twitter that employees’ systems are also down.
Visitors to the Tesco website are currently greeted by a virtual waiting room.
A statement on the holding page says: “We’re busier than usual right now, so it may take a little longer to get onto our site. You don’t need to do anything as this page will update automatically.
“Our slots are in high demand at the moment. So if you’re not a vulnerable customer and can shop in-store safely, please consider doing so. This will free up slots for customers who are most in need.
“If you’re placing a new order, make sure you check out within 2 hours. Don’t forget, you have right up until 11.45pm the night before your slot to make changes to your order.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
