TESCO shoppers have been rushing to buy a Christmas favourite that is already in stores.

The supermarket giant is selling an array of festive chocolate tubs even though it’s only July.

Eagle-eyed shoppers have spotted the Celebrations, Quality Street and Heroes tubs appearing in Tesco stores – five months before Christmas.

Commenting on a post from Christmas Countdown on Facebook, shoppers were sharing that this was getting them excited for the festive season.

One fan wrote: “I can’t buy them as I’d eat them all.”

While another commented: “Omg it’s basically Christmas.”

And another said: “I’m excited for Christmas now.”

Shoppers can pick up any of the three choc tubs for £5, or £4 with a Tesco Clubcard.

Celebrations and Quality Street tubs are 600g and Heroes are 550g.

The sweet treats are also available online, where you can also pick up Roses 550g tubs for the same price.

Remember if you’re buying online you’ll also have to factor in delivery costs, which start from £4.99 but can depend on the size of your basket and if you have a pass.

But all four tubs are £1 more expensive than this time last year.

Tesco was selling them for £4 in August 2022 – or £3 with a Clubcard.

Shoppers with the loyalty card could also get two of any tubs for £7 – working out at just £3.50 each.

There’s no deal to get them cheaper when you buy more this year.

It is up to retailers what prices they set for the tubs so cost can vary depending on where you buy the items from, and when.

Other stores were selling the festive must-haves last year for a variety of different prices.

For instance Wilko and Sainsbury’s sold single tubs for £3.50 each last year closer to Christmas.

The Sun has contacted Tesco for a comment and will update the piece once we hear back.

Celebrations are filled with Snickers, Twix, Mars, Bounty, Milky Way, Galaxy Milk, Galaxy Caramel and Maltesers Teasers.

While Quality Street is packed with a selection of 12 different chocolates, including one filled with orange crème, a toffee finger, and one with fudge wrapped in milk chocolate.

Heroes contain all Cadbury’s chocolates – Dairy Milk, Dairy Milk Caramel, Eclairs, Fudge, Twirl, Creme Egg Twisted, Crunchie Bits, Dinky Decker and Wispa.

Last Christmas, Celebrations removed Bounty sweets from some of its tubs.

It was part of a trial to see if shoppers want to get rid of the divisive Bountys from tubs permanently.

While Nestle’s Quality Street announced it axed its iconic brightly-coloured wrappers over 86 years after their release.

In a bid to become more environmentally friendly, the treats are now being wrapped in a duller form of waxed paper, which is recyclable.

Only the two foil-covered sweets – the green triangle and orange crunch – will remain in their original packaging.
