TESCO shoppers are ‘absolutely gutted’ as the supermarket axes its savings scheme in the run-up to Christmas.
The popular scheme has been around for years and customers now have just weeks to spend their cash.

The scheme meant that customers could collect savings “stamps” throughout the year which they could then use to buy items from the store in December.
However, the supermarket giant announced that it would be axing the initiative earlier in the year, with the last day to buy stamps being October 16.
Customers who have stamps to spend can do so until December 31 and they can also be exchanged for a Tesco gift card at the tills.
Some shoppers are not happy about the change and have taken to social media to vent their frustration.

One person said they were “absolutely gutted” about the change.
They added: “I’ve been savings stamps for years, always came in handy for Christmas. I’ve got two full books and half a book”.
Another said: “A lot of people save stamps to help at Christmas as it is a big struggle for them that time of year.
“Tesco should help people not make things more of a struggle”.

However, Tesco does have a Christmas Saver scheme where shoppers can turn points into vouchers through their Clubcard account.
It also allows customers to pay cash into their Christmas Saver account and get a bonus.
Customers using the Clubcard Christmas Saver can get a £1.50 bonus if they save £25-£49.99 and up to £12 for £200 or more.
Vouchers and money you pay into the savers account last for two years, while the bonus, in separate vouchers, expires after two months.
It comes as Tesco issued a warning to its shoppers to use up any Clubcard points they have or risk losing them for good.
The supermarket chain said that there are £16million worth of Clubcard points due to expire after November 30.
The points, which were first issued in November 2021, have to be redeemed within two years.
How does the Tesco Clubcard scheme work?
Tesco’s Clubcard scheme allows shoppers to earn points as they shop, these points can then be turned into vouchers for money off food or other reward partner schemes.
Each time you spend £1 in-store and online, you get one point when you scan your card or app.
Drivers using Clubcards now get one point for every two litres spent on fuel.
One point equals 1p, so 150 points gets you £1.50, for example.
You’ll need a minimum of 150 points to request a voucher.
These vouchers can either be worth the face value to spend in-store at Tesco, or you can double their worth to spend at reward partners, including restaurants, and on days out.

Loyalty card holders can also get cheaper prices on over 8,000 items thanks to Clubcard Prices.
These Clubcard prices save the average member £351 on their annual shop, according to Tesco.
