Tesco has revealed its long-awaited Valentine’s Day meal deal – including duck and prosecco

It follows unveilings by Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda – which is also flogging a £1 engagement ring this year.

The Tesco deal includes one starter, one main, two sides, a dessert and the choice of a full-sized bottle of Tesco Finest Processo, wine, a four-pack of Peroni beers or a non-alcoholic alternative.

That’s less generous than Asda, which is offering a Sky Movies voucher worth £5.49 and a box of chocolates on top of the regular trimmings.

Starter highlights include calamari with chilli jam and the Tesco Finest antipasti platter.

Delicious mains on offer are duck breast with hoisin raspberry sauce, Wicked Kitchen veggie wellingtons and more.

The desserts are sure to catch the eye too, with heart-emblazoned millionaires tarts and raspberry and passion fruit cheesecake to choose from.

As with last year, Tesco’s Valentine’s Day for two meal deals will cost £15 each.

That’s the price advertised to Tesco Clubcard members.

We’ve asked Tesco how much it will cost for everyone else and will let you know as soon as we hear.

If you wanted to buy the priciest items separately, you’ll pay a small chunk more.

When we checked, the rump steak with peppercorn butter was £8, the millionaires tarts £3, and the Prosecco £10.

That means the bundle can save you some pennies off your shop.

The offer begins on February 9 in Tesco Extra stores and online, while shoppers in Northern Ireland and at Tesco Express stores will have to wait till February 10.

You can claim the offer in-store or book a Tesco delivery slot – plus get priority access and free deliveries with a Delivery Saver membership, which costs £8 a month.
