TESCO has launched an up to half price sale on toys – and it could be good for parents who’ve got last-minute Christmas presents to buy.
The supermarket has discounts on popular brands including Paw Patrol and Barbie.
Harry Potter and Nerf fans are also in luck, with offers on these products available too.
Not all items are half price though, so look carefully for the best bargains.
The sale started today, December 14, and will run for a couple of weeks until Sunday, December 27.
All toy discounts will be available in-store at larger Tesco supermarkets, and the grocer says sale items should be online too.
How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
Here are some that we recommend:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
- Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
- Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
- CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
However, we couldn’t see all the sale items mentioned below on the Tesco website when we checked today. See what toys are available online here.
We’ve asked the supermarket for clarification and we’ll update this article when we get a response.
In the meantime, it might be a good idea to try your nearest store – use the Tesco online finder tool to see where your nearest is.
If you do order from Tesco online, keep in mind you’ll pay £4.50 for delivery or £1.50 for click and collect.
But before you part ways with your cash, remember to compare prices first to make sure you’re getting the best deal.
