TESCO has issued a message to all shoppers ahead of its Christmas delivery slots opening – and you can still get in early.

With under eight weeks to go until the big day, the supermarket giant is prepping itself for the festive period.

Tesco has issued a reminder to shoppers to get in early for a delivery slot

It’s issued a reminder to customers to get in early and snap up a delivery slot before they’re all gone.

Tesco is giving customers who pay for an annual delivery pass first dibs.

The supermarket’s delivery plan and click and collect delivery plan customers can book their slots from 6am on Tuesday, November 7.

This gives customers a two-week head start on regular shoppers, who will have to wait until November 21 to nab a slot.

But if you also want to get ahead of the game, you can still sign up to the relevant delivery plan by Monday, November 6.

Tesco delivery plans range from £3.99 a month to £7.99 a month depending on what level of service you want.

Or you could save on each plan by paying for 12-months up front.

You can buy the plans on the retailer’s website.

Tom Denyard, managing director of Tesco Online said: “As we help customers plan ahead for their Christmas shop this year, we want customers to know that time is running out to sign up for a delivery saver anytime plan and benefit from festive priority slot bookings which go live on Tuesday.”

“We look forward to helping customers across the UK pick up some family favourites or treat themselves to something special this festive season.”

What is a Tesco delivery pass and how does it work?

Delivery passes allow you to pay a flat fee either monthly, yearly or six monthly, and then get your deliveries for free.

If you’re a regular online shopper, this could be a way of reducing costs.

But should only consider taking out a delivery pass if you order groceries online regularly, and if you think it will save you money in the long term.

An anytime delivery plan costs £7.99 per month for 12 months and gives priority access to both click and collect slots and Christmas home delivery.

You can also pay an upfront fee of £47.94 if you don’t want to pay monthly – this works out at £3.99 a month.

The supermarket’s anytime click and collect plan, priced at £2.49 a month, gives priority access to click and collect Christmas slots.

If you chose to pay annually, this works out at £14.49, or £1.25 a month.

But the supermarket’s off peak delivery plan doesn’t offer priority access to Christmas delivery slots.

When do other supermarket’s delivery slots open?

Asda

Asda customers with a delivery pass have been able to book a slot since October 3 via Asda.com or the app.

Delivery slots opened for everyone else on October 10.

Meanwhile, anyone looking to book in a delivery for arrival on Christmas Eve will have to wait until December 20.

Customers will be able to pre-order turkeys when the first delivery slots open, with last orders being taken on December 14.

Morrisons

Morrisons customers with a delivery pass have been able to lock in a slot since October 18.

They opened to customers without a pass on October 25.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s opened its delivery slots on October 16 for those with a delivery pass.

Any shoppers without one had to wait until October 23.

But those ordering for click and collect will have to wait until November 20 to book in.

M&S

M&S has already opened click and collect slots through its Food to Order service.

You just have to book a slot, add your shopping to the basket then can collect in-store between December 22 and 24.

The service is open until December 11 but there’s limited slots so you should get your order in as soon as possible.

Ocado, which delivers for M&S, has also opened up delivery slots and existing customers will be emailed or texted when they become available to book.

In 2022, it opened up slots to Smart Pass customers first, but it’s not clear if it will do the same this year.

You can pick up a Smart Pass from just £4 a month.

Aldi and Lidl

Neither of the budget supermarkets offer home deliveries, but Aldi does offer a click and collect service.

It is yet to announce when these slots will be available, but we will update this article as soon we have more information.

Iceland

Iceland is yet to reveal whether it is releasing delivery slots this year, and it didn’t respond to a request about slots last year.

But last year, the retailer did launch thousands of slots two weeks before Christmas, but it hiked the cost of some deliveries.

It introduced a fee for shoppers who book a delivery slot more than 24 hours in advance during the festive period.

Delivery was previously free for customers who spent more than £40, no matter when they chose to have their food delivered.

But last year, Iceland only offered free delivery for people who booked a slot for the next day.

Meanwhile, all of the supermarkets seem to be getting into the festive spirit by releasing their Christmas adverts.

Asda’s amusing Christmas advert tease features one of the world’s most iconic jazz and soul singers Michael Buble.

Meanwhile, M&S has revealed its Christmas food advert for this year, featuring a star-studded cast of actors.
