TESCO, Aldi and a number of other supermarkets have slashed the price of Quality Street and Celebrations chocolates that usually make firm family favourites around Christmas time.

But NOW is the time to stock up ahead of the festive season, as the promotions won’t hang around forever.

There’s still two months to go until the big day, but cashing in early on some of the major savings promoted by retailers will save you from going over budget this Christmas.

Aldi is the latest to join the reduction battle as it has slashed the price of 650g Quality Street and Celebrations tubs from £4 to £3.50.

It’s part of the supermarket’s “spooktacular offers” in-store, but it’s only available until November 1, which is why you’d need to act now.

The discount makes the chocolates the same price as Tesco and Asda’s were in their previous two for £7 deals that ran at the end of September and earlier in the month.

At both supermarkets, the chocolates were originally £4 each, so shoppers could save £1 off their festive shop in the deal.

Sadly though, both of those have now come to an end, leaving Aldi to instead rake in sales from bargain hunters with its discounted price.

But at Aldi, you aren’t tied into buying two tubs, which could be perfect if you’re simply looking to replace another tub that someone in the house has already dipped into two months early, or just don’t need as much chocolate.

It’s not the only retailer promoting major savings on the chocolates though.

Just last week shoppers noticed the slightly smaller 435g pouches were reduced from £3.50 to just £2.50 at Tesco for a limited time.

But that deal has also already slipped through chocolate lovers’ fingers since it was advertised on bargain hunting forum, Hotukdeals, which just goes to show how quickly the offers can come and go this time of year.

That means it’s more important than ever to cash-in as soon as you spot the deals, especially if you want to stock up ahead of Christmas.

They’re only going to get pricier in the lead up to the big day, especially as shoppers continue to fear for supermarket shortages.

But not all is lost, as Wilko is STILL running its own two for £7 deal that makes the tubs of chocolates the same price as Aldi’s, but you have to buy two to benefit from the deal.

However, as we draw closer to the festive season, and add on Halloween being just days away, you might run into difficulty finding the chocs in stock – Wilko says they’re sold out online but you may have more luck visiting your local store.

Iceland has its own “two-for” deal as well, but it’s not the same bargain as the other stores have be known to advertise.

You can pick up two tubs of the chocolates for £8 in the deal, while they would usually be £5 each from the store.

That means shoppers will make a bigger saving, of £2, compared to the £1 saving made in the two for £7 deals, but they’ll have to spend £1 more overall.

Meanwhile Tesco has slashed the price of its 250g Quality Street cartons, from £3 to £2 if you have a Clubcard.

It’s another great bargain if you’re not after a glut of chocolates for the time being, as you’ll save a third of the price.

You only have until November 9 for this deal though so you need to cash in sooner rather than later.
