A VAPE device has been removed from UK shops it was found to be at least 50 per cent over the legal nicotine limit.
New samples concluded that the Double Apple flavour Lost Mary bought from a Sainsbury’s contained an average of 3.6ml of nicotine liquid.

It comes after the brand’s watermelon flavour from its 600 line was found to contain at least 50 per cent more than the 3.2ml legal limit for nicotine e-liquid.
The vapes, which would normally cost between £3.80 and £6 at the supermarkets, have been banned following a Daily Mail investigation.
Andrew Bush, professor of paediatrics at Imperial College London, described the findings that the device was up to eighty per cent over the nicotine limit as “deeply disturbing”.
Elsewhere, chief medical officer, Sir Chris Whitty had called for a clampdown on the “appalling” marketing of e-cigarettes, many of which had found their way into the hands of children.
Elf Bar’s sales constitute eight out of ten disposable vapes sales in the UK.
Anti-smoking group Ash found that despite the sales of vapes being illegal to those under 18, over half of 11-17 year olds revealed they had vaped before – amounting to around 100,000 young people.
After an intervention by the UK’s medical watchdog, Elf Bar admitted it had “fallen short in some areas” agreeing with the vapes which hadn’t adhered to the legal nicotine levels.
An Elf Bar spokesperson told the Daily Mail: “We found out that some batches of the Elf Bar product have been overfilled in the UK.

“It appears that e-liquid tank sizes, which are standard in other markets, have been inadvertently fitted to some of our UK products.
“We wholeheartedly apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.”
The company previously said that its products are safe and that it would investigate all vape product exports to the UK.
