Now, the supermarket is changing the way its rewards are generated – making them more relevant to customers’ needs.

It says offers have changed so they now focus on categories customers want to make savings– including on meat and dairy.

The changes come as customers look to save money during the crushing cost of living crisis.

Rachel Eyre, chief customer and marketing officer at Morrisons, said: “We know that this is a very tough time for customers and so our improved My Morrisons scheme will help by rewarding them with instant offers when they shop. ”

Shoppers can swipe the My Morrisons app or a physical card at the checkout and the savings will be taken from the total automatically.

You can find your nearest Morrisons by using their store locator tool.

Offers can be viewed in the My Morrisons app – which can be downloaded from the App Store for people with Apple iPhones or from the Google Play store for Android users -or on the website.

It has changed its offers so they are now focused on the categories customers want to make savings in, including meat and dairy.

The retailer is also introducing surprise offers, which will be available on key dates throughout the year such as Halloween and Mother’s Day.

Shoppers will also be in with the chance to bag a bonus offer when they scan or swipe their card at a Morrisons store.

This is called the basket bonuses scheme and customers may be able to get money off a shop or a treat from one of its Market Street counters.

The My Morrisons app has also been updated so it is easier and quicker to use.

The barcode, which is scanned to redeem the offers, has been added to the app’s home screen so it is quicker to for customers to find out the checkout.

How can I get a My Morrisons card?

The My Morrisons App can be downloaded from the Android or Apple stores.

You can register for a digital or physical card by signing up on the app.

Customers can also register online at www.mymorrisons.com for the website experience.

If you have a physical card, you can get paper vouchers printed at the till when you shop.

Existing Morrisons card users will need to update their app for the new My Morrisons experience.

How does the Morrisons loyalty card compare to other supermarkets?

Tesco offers one point for every £1 you spend in store or online, including F&F clothing, or one pointfor every £2 spent on fuel at the supermarket.

You can also get points for using Tesco Clubcard Pay+, Tesco Bank Credit card and Tesco Mobile.

You can even earn extra points by doing surveys and filling up on fuel at Esso too.

That means 150 points gets you a £1.50 voucher.

But if you swap this for a reward it’s worth triple that, so £4.50.

You can redeem the higher rewards online and see what’s on offer on the Tesco website.

The rewards available can vary.

Sainsbury’s shoppers can collect points through the grocer’s Nectar Card scheme.

To collect the points, customers simply shop as usual through the year and scan their Nectar card at the check out either in-store or online.

For every £1 spent, shoppers get one Nectar point – each point is usually worth 0.5p when redeemed in store.
