FAST food fans are heartbroken after a huge chain announced the abrupt close of the “best” branch in the area.
Burger King bosses have confirmed that one of the Doncaster restaurants is set to shut its doors.
The branch, on Wheatley Hall Road, will close down this weekend after opening in 2022, reports Doncaster Free Press.
A spokesman said: “We can confirm that our Wheatley Hall Road restaurant will be closing. Customers can still enjoy Burger King at nearby restaurants including Doncaster Frenchgate and Doncaster Herten Triangle.”
It comes just months after a Taco Bell on the same site also closed its doors.
The outlet closed in 2023 after first opening in 2021.

It comes after the fast food giant revealed it planned to open 30 new restaurants by the end of this year.
Burger King kick-started its expansion by opening five new sites in October.
The company said it had long-term plans to open 60 restaurants in total over the next two years.
In 2022 the restaurant chain opened 32 new Burger King UK-owned restaurants and also acquired 74 from its largest franchise partner, Karali Group.

It also upgraded 32 restaurants including Leicester Square flagship and said it would complete a further 10 by the end of 2023 – including Manchester Piccadilly and Thorpe Park.
The company announced a “resilient performance” and reported that total revenue was up by 39% in 2022.
Meanwhile, Burger King is bringing back a popular item that recently left the McDonald’s menu.
The salty snack left the Burger King menu late last year but due to popular demand, it’s now made a comeback.
Halloumi Fries are returned on April 23 and for the first time ever they are available to order on Uber Eats.
The announcement has delighted cheesy chip enthusiasts and comes just in time to prevent them having a total meltdown as Maccies discontinue the fries.
