A SPACIOUS double bedroom in a trendy London postcode has gone on the market for less than £600 a month – but there’s a catch.

At first glance, the room in Haringey, north of the capital, looks like a steal.

Although there’s not much space around the bed, the unusually-shaped room is largely bright and airy, with a charming skylight to let in the sunshine.

But those who prefer their own space may be well advised to skip a viewing.

That’s because the new resident will be sharing the space with 19 other people – as well as two cats.

The room is in a whopping warehouse which has been transformed into accommodation.

And its occupants must be creative types who don’t mind the occasional queue for the bathroom.

The new tenant will share a kitchen and living room with the other residents.

They can also work in a shared studio area.

An ad posted on Gumtree reads: “The warehouse has a massive open-plan central space.

“It has a fully-equipped kitchen, central heating, and four bathrooms – one bath and shower, three showers and four toilets.

“You’ll be sharing the warehouse with 19 others of various genders, ethnicities, nationalities, sexualities and musical persuasions… and two cats.”

And the latest to join the household will be expected to fit in.

“We get on well and hang out together at home and outside the house,” the ad reads.

“We use the communal space for creative endeavours, planned events and spontaneous fun, as well as quiet hang outs.

‘NOT A FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE’

“The house can be both lively and quiet, but it’s probably not for someone looking for a fortress of solitude.”

Couples aren’t welcome, with single people only invited to apply.

The current residents say their new tenant will be looking to stay for at least six months.

While the property might not be for everyone, budget-conscious house-hunters will know it’s a bargain.

The capital is well-known for its weird and wonderful housing options.

One tiny studio on the market in swanky Bayswater for £250,000 has no bed.

Instead, the property features a very slim sofa barely big enough to allow a resident to put their feet up comfortably.

The new owner will likely face a choice between having a bed or somewhere to sit, as there doesn’t appear to be space for both.

Another little flat in posh Kensington is on the market for a bargain £480 a month – but it doesn’t have a toilet.

While the space offers a shower – bizarrely wedged between the fridge and a chest of drawers – there’s no loo in sight.

Even more strangely, the property in North End Crescent is marketed as a home for two, meaning only the very closest of couples should apply.

And a flat in Richmond also comes without a bed – although it costs a whopping £350,000.
