Sir Martin Sorrell’s S4 Capital has bought Los Angeles marketing agency Cashmere
Sir Martin Sorrell’s appetite for deals is still strong after he snapped up Los Angeles marketing agency Cashmere – S4 Capital’s 25th acquisition since its 2018 launch.
There are more deals in the pipeline after it raised hundreds of millions of pounds this year. Sorrell, 76, was renowned for his deal making at WPP, which became the world’s largest advertising agency.
He has done the same at S4, which has a market cap of £4.6billion, a third of WPP’s £12billion valuation.
S4 paid an estimated £50million for Cashmere which has 150 staff and clients such as BMW, Netflix and Apple.
Sorrell said: ‘Its ability to translate contemporary culture into compelling content and reach diverse audiences is a rare talent, something we want to integrate at the heart of our content practice.’
Peel Hunt analyst Malcolm Morgan said: ‘Cashmere should expand S4’s creative content capability in the US.’
