SKY Yahoo Mail users have been warned that their account might soon be deleted, as the company purges inactive inboxes.

The email service has strict terms and conditions which could see your account deleted.

If you no longer need your Sky Yahoo Mail account, you don’t need to do anything

If you’ve been redirecting your email from Sky Yahoo Mail to another email service without signing in to the account, this makes your account look like it’s inactive and so it might be at risk of being axed.

Users must log in to their Sky Yahoo Mail inbox at least every six months, otherwise Sky might delete the account.

Sky Yahoo Mail will send an email to the inbox and any replacement address, if the user hasn’t signed in for five months or more as a reminder.

Although, users who haven’t signed in for that long already are unlikely to see it.

Users will then have 14 days to sign in to their Sky Yahoo Mail account, or it will be suspended.

“While the account is suspended, we’ll send you a second reminder email to reactivate your account, but you won’t be able to receive any other emails during that time,” Sky said in a help forum on its website.

“If you don’t reactivate your account within 14 days of the second email, your account will be deleted and can’t be recovered.

“This includes all emails, contacts and calendar information.”

However, it should be noted that this won’t affect your Sky iD or any other Sky services.

If you no longer need your Sky Yahoo Mail account, you don’t need to do anything.

“Unfortunately, once your account has been deleted you won’t be able to reactivate your account or access your previous data, including emails, contacts and calendars,” Sky added.

If you’ve forgotten your sign in details, you can reset them online.
