But what about making Sky Glass even better for you?

Check out the essential advice from those already using the Sky TV service below.

Switch to an ethernet cable

Sky Glass and Sky Stream are both satellite dish-free, relying solely on broadband.

This is great for keeping ugly dishes off the side of your house – and more so if you’re renting and not allowed to install one.

You can connect to your broadband easily via Wi-Fi, but there’s actually a more stable option.

Go to the good old fashioned wire.

If you have an ethernet cable long enough, stick it in the back of your Sky Glass or Sky Stream device and hook it up to your broadband router.

That way, whenever there are Wi-Fi specific issues, your TV viewing is far less likely to suffer disruption.

Vivid mode

If you want to see the colours on your Sky Glass TV burst from the screen, try Vivid mode.

However, it very much comes down to taste – and there are several other modes worth testing out to find one that appeals to you.

But Vivid is Sky’s recommended mode, describing it as a way to “experience a more vibrant and colourful display with higher contrast and colour saturation”.

To do it, press the three dots options menu on your Sky remote.

Select Viewing mode and choose from the list.

Switch off enhanced experience

Sky has motion detection which will switch your Sky Glass TV on automatically whenever you pass it.

It only works at certain times of the day and is meant to be helpful.

But not everyone loves it.

You can switch it off by going to the Settings and look for Startup & standby.

Switch Enhanced experience off – or select each one individually.
