Sky customers receive huge WiFi upgrade with ‘powerful’ new hub – BUT it’ll cost you

SKY has launched a brand new WiFi router which promises to provide a faster connection around the home.

The broadcasting giant is promising its most powerful WiFi package yet and guaranteeing speeds of up to 25Mbps.

So if the connection drops below that you’ll get your money back.

The WiFi Max Hub uses the latest WiFi 6 technology allowing it to intelligently distribute a strong connection to many devices at once.

Sky customers should be able to stream in Ultra HD, game and work in every room without any issues all at once.

Up to three free Max Pods are available which can extend WiFi coverage so that every corner of the house is covered if you have any black spots.

WiFi Max also offers advanced security to protect every device from cyberattacks, with alerts for any threats as they happen in the MySky app.

But WiFi Max is a paid upgrade add-on for existing Sky Broadband packages.

It costs £10 per month on top of your usual broadband bill.

And it’s only available to new and existing customers who are on any of the following packages:

• Superfast Broadband 35, with average speeds of 36 Mb/s at £25 a month for 18 months
• Ultrafast Broadband, with average speeds of 145 Mb/s at £30 a month for 18 months
• Ultrafast Plus Broadband, with average speeds of 500 Mb/s at £48 a month for 18 months
• Gigafast Broadband, with average speeds of 900 Mb/s at £53 a month for 18 months

Existing customers with Sky Q won’t be able to purchase WiFi Max until later this year.

And the 25Mbps WiFi guarantee is for Sky Broadband Ultrafast and upwards – Sky Broadband Superfast customers get a 10Mbps guarantee.
