SKY customers can cash in their unused data to get hundreds of pounds in rewards – here’s how to do it.

If you have a phone contract with the company and don’t use your monthly allowance of data, you can swap it for rewards including money off a Sky phone or tablet.

Sky allows customers to save up unused data, which can be traded in for money off Sky items.

Previously, customers could trade in their unused data for vouchers, but that is no longer available.

If you don’t use all of your data in a given month it will be stored in your “Sky Piggybank”.

If you’re a Sky customer it might be worth checking how much you’ve got saved up, as you could have £100s worth.

We explain how to swap your data and how the rewards system works.

What is Sky Piggy Bank?

At the end of every month, any data that you don’t use is transferred into your Sky Piggybank.

For example, if you get 10GB of data a month on your phone plan, but you only end up using 8GB – 2GB of that would be moved into the pot.

If that happened every month for four months, you’d end up with 8GB stashed away in the piggybank.

You can dip into it and use the data whenever you like – either to access the internet or to use for money off Sky products.

If you regularly don’t use your internet allowance you could think about swapping on to a contract with less data when it comes to upgrade.

That could work out cheaper in the long run, but do make sure you have enough data for your needs as its expensive to buy as an add on.

How can I swap my data for rewards?

You can use your Sky PiggyBank data to top up data in the future if you’re running low.

You can also cash it in for rewards including money off new phones, tablets and accessories.

To redeem rewards, just log in to the My Sky App and head to your piggybank.

You’ll be able to see how much you’ve saved up and what you can spend it on.

It’s worth noting that rewards change regularly and you’ll see different rewards depending on how much data you have saved.

The more data, the better the rewards.

Here’s how much money you can get off a Sky product with how much data you’ve saved:

Between weeks 1-4 and 8-13:

  • £10 off for 25GB
  • £20 off for 50GB
  • £40 off for 100GB

Then for weeks 5-12:

Poundland has the best SKIMS dupes - I look like a budget Kim Kardashian
  • £20 off for 40GB
  • £30 off for 50GB
  • £50 off for 100GB

You’ll have to wait until you’ve had at least one billing period before you can start redeeming rewards.
