SKY Glass customers can boost their TVs sound system for free – provided they have a Bluetooth speaker lying around.
It takes just minutes to set up.

With flat-screen TVs came ultra-slim speakers, with sound often worse than their boxier predecessors.
But now viewers can essentially connect Bluetooth devices to their Sky Glass box so they don’t have to rely solely on the speakers in their telly.
Instead of forking out cash for a pricey audio system, you could set up a handful of Bluetooth speakers around the room for full surround sound.
It even works with Bluetooth headset or headphones.
Although it’s not yet possible to use Bluetooth hearing aids for this trick.
To turn it on, simply press Home on your Sky remote, and keep pressing down until you can select Settings.
Then click Connected devices > Bluetooth devices > Add new device.
Make sure your device has Bluetooth switched on, so the TV can pick up on it.

You may need to turn the device on and off again for this to work, and make sure that it is disconnected from all other devices, such as your phone.
Once the device appears, select your Bluetooth device from the list provided and press Connect.
When the device is connected, you can change the audio output.
Simply press the three dots button on your Sky remote and select Audio output.
Choose either Bluetooth or TV speakers. Or, to have sound from both, select Bluetooth and TV speakers.
You’ll then see a message at the top of your screen, to confirm your device is connected.
It should be noted that this sound trick doesn’t work on a Sky Stream puck.
How do I disconnect a Bluetooth device from my TV?
You’ve connected your Bluetooth device to your Sky Glass box, but what now?
When it comes to wanting to disconnect it, simply press Home on your Sky remote and keep pressing down to select Settings.
Click Connected devices > Bluetooth devices > Manage devices.
Select your connected Bluetooth device, and from here you can either choose to: Disconnect, Forget this device, Auto-connect.
Disconnecting means the sound will no longer come out of the device, but the TV will recognise the device next time you want to connect.
Forgetting a device means that the TV will not recognise the device next time you want to connect, and you’ll have to repeat the process above.
Auto-connect means that whenever the device is nearby the Sky Glass box it will automatically sync and sound from the telly will emit from the speaker.
