The price could be right when Sir Bruce Forsyth’s vintage Rolls-Royce goes up for auction.

The late TV star’s 1971 Corniche Convertible will go under the hammer later this month with an estimate of between £50,000 and £60,000.

The prestige model was first delivered to Brucie in July 1971 and subsequently owned by him for the next seven years.

Having failed to attract a winning bid at a Silverstone Auctions sale in February, Brucie’s Rolls will return to the block in a fortnight’s time in the hope of finding a new owner at an event hosted by Classic Car Auctions (CCA).

Described as Ming Blue with a navy blue leather interior, the Roller has only 39,719 miles on the clock.

That’s an average annual mileage of 764 miles from new.

CCA said: ‘If this beautifully elegant Rolls-Royce has even a smidgeon of Sir Bruce’s warmth and bonhomie it will be a joy to own and drive.

‘One can only hope that something of the much beloved entertainer permeates this car that once carried him daily.

‘If this Rolls-Royce ends up sitting in your driveway you might well be quoting Sir Bruce’s famous catchphrase when your eye falls on this beauty: “Nice to see you, to see you nice.”’

If a winning bidder is found later this month, they will get their hands on a classic car in fine working order.

That’s because over £5,000 was spent on the Corniche during a mechanical overhaul carried out in 2019 by specialist firm The Percival Motor Car Company.

Despite being over 40 years old and therefore not requiring an MOT, the Rolls is uniquely offered with a fresh certificate showing no advisories, valid until 23 January 2024.

Considered by many enthusiasts the most attractive version of the Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible, just 1,232 examples of these chrome-bumpered cars were produced between 1971 and 1977 – and very few were finished in the desirable Ming Blue paint.

Sir Bruce Forsyth’s career spanned more than 70 years, with highlights including TV shows The Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right and Strictly Come Dancing.

He passed away in 2017 at the age of 89.

The Classic Car Auction Summer sale takes place at the Warwickshire Events Centre, near Leamington Spa on Saturday 17th June.
