WILKO shoppers can get their hands on an electric blanket for less than £3 to help them stave off the cold – but there’s a catch.
The retailer is selling the gadget for £18 online and it comes with a 4.7 stars out of 5 rating.

But new TopCashback customers who buy the blanket via the cashback website get a £15 sign-up bonus, reducing the cost to £3.
Plus, there’s a 2% cashback offer on at the moment, which brings the price down to £2.64.
If you’re already a TopCashback customer then it reduces the price to £17.64.
You can get paid for shopping using cashback websites, like TopCashback.
They are free to join (although, some charge a fee for a premium service) and all you have to do is click through to participating retailer websites and shop – and in return you get a slice of commission.
You will have to stump up the cash and wait for it to be paid back.
TopCashback says once you’ve made a purchase and it receives an update from the retailer (which is usually within one day of purchase), the £15 bonus cashback will appear in your bank account.
It usually takes 30 days for other cashback to be paid.

The offer is only valid until the end of December 11, plus you won’t be eligible for the £15 if you buy a takeaway.
Plenty of Wilko shoppers have been full of praise for the £18 electric blanket online.
One said: “Bought this item a couple of months ago and is definitely the best under blanket I have bought.”
Another said: “The blanket heats up in minutes and only adds to the comfort of the bed.”
A third added: “Really happy with this purchase. Easy to use and great price!”
If you can you grab the blanket for less than £3, it could save you on your energy bills too.
Based on the current energy price guarantee, it costs 24p to run an electric blanket for one hour a day for seven days.
So if you used it for one hour a day for a year, you’d be spending £12.48.
Although, keep in mind that this will vary based on your energy tariff and what blanket you use.
Uswitch energy expert Sarah Broomfield previously told The Sun turning down the thermostat down by just 1°C can save you as much as £80 a year.
So if you’re using the electric blanket as opposed to turning the central heating up you could save over £70 a year on your bills.
Of course, you should always shop around when buying products as sometimes you might find them cheaper elsewhere.
That goes for energy bills and broadband too – price comparison sites like Go Compare or Uswitch can you find the best deals.
When we look online to find other retailers selling electric blankets we couldn’t find anywhere else stocking one cheaper than Wilko, after using the TopCashback offer.
Amazon UK was selling one for £16.99 while Currys had one in stock for £19. Meanwhile, Dunelm was stocking one for £22.
Other ways to save on your energy bills
The government announced in its Autumn Statement millions on benefits and Universal Credit will receive an extra one-off £900.
Eight million households currently get cost of living payments worth up to £650, but eligibility criteria could change under any new rules.
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt also said pensioners will be getting a £300 one-off payment.
The current “Pensioner Cost of Living payment” is being handed out to millions on a low income.
You qualify under the current rules if you normally get the Winter Fuel Payment, but this could change under the new rules.
The £300 cost of living payment is paid on top of the other winter support.
You’ll need to be:
- born on or before 25 September 1956
- have lived in the UK for at least one day during the week of 19 to 25 September 2022 in what is known as the “qualifying week”
Plus, struggling families are eligible for the Warm House Discount this winter.
Households in England and Wales don’t need to apply to get the cash and they’ll automatically qualify if they are receiving certain benefits.
