SAINSBURY’S fans are rushing to buy a Christmas dinner essential, although not everyone is convinced.

The snack in question is a new take on classic pigs in blankets – but with a spicy twist.

Christmas wouldn’t be the same without the family bringing out little pork sausages wrapped in bacon (if you’re not veggie).

But what would you make of new jalapeño and cheese versions?

Sainsbury’s is selling them in packets of 12 for £3.75.

The interesting find was posted to social media, with many fans sharing their thoughts.

One fan wrote: “These could be good.”

Another said: “Ooooh I’d like to try those.”

And one more chimed in: “How nice do these sound!!”

But many weren’t quite as pleased, with one criticising: “Holy moly.”

And another joked: “There the pigs in blankets I’m leaving for you this year.”

The supermarket also sells packs of 12 ordinary pigs in blankets for £3.25, if that’s more your thing.

We couldn’t find any other jalapeño and cheese versions, but Morrisons does sell packs of 10 cheesy pigs in blankets for £3.

But always remember to shop around if you want to try some. There could be similar items on sale elsewhere for less.

For example, Tesco does 20 pigs in blankets for £3.60.

Aldi sells 12 for £1.99.

And M&S sells 16 for £5.50 if you shop from Ocado.

Prices may differ in store for that one.

Remember to factor in delivery costs if you’re shopping anywhere online.

And there are plenty of comparison sites like Trolley.co.uk which compare 130,000 products and 14 supermarkets if you’re not sure where to look.

In other news, M&S has revealed its top gifts and food items for this year’s festive season.

Many of the items are already in M&S shops now – which is great if you want to space out the cost of Christmas and stock up on items.

The shop has already opened orders for its Food to Order service too – where you book and pay for items ahead of the big day.

The list includes the Percy Pig advent calendar, gingerbread musical house and more – read the rest here.
