SHOPPERS are rushing to buy a “fantastic” electric blanket for £7 to help avoid putting the heating – and it costs just 1p an hour to run.
The Silentnight heated blanket usually costs £35, but it is currently £28 in the Argos pre-Christmas sale.
But new TopCashback customers who buy the blanket via the cashback website can get £20 off plus an extra 5% on top.
This means shoppers can get the gadget for £6.83.
You can get paid for shopping using cashback websites, like TopCashback.
They are free to join (although, some charge a fee for a premium service) and all you have to do is click through to participating retailer websites and shop – and in return you get a slice of commission.

You will have to stump up the cash and wait for it to be paid back.
TopCashback says once you’ve made a purchase and it receives an update from the retailer (which is usually within one day of purchase), the £15 bonus cashback will appear in your bank account.
It usually takes 30 days for other cashback to be paid.
Shoppers have been full of praise for the “fantastic” blanket and it’s racked up more than 2,000 reviews on the Argos website.

The single electric blanket has three heat settings that you can adjust to set the temperature that is just right for you.
Pre-heating your bed for one hour on a low heat setting costs as little as 1p, according to the product description.
Of course, you should always shop around when buying products as sometimes you might find them cheaper elsewhere.
That goes for energy bills and broadband too – price comparison sites like Go Compare or Uswitch can you find the best deals.
We looked online to find other retailers selling electric blankets we couldn’t find a cheaper deal than this TopCashback offer.
