The colour and weight you choose will determine the cost of these weighted blankets as the grey and pink blankets are slightly cheaper.

For the charcoal blanket prices start at £15 and go up to £25 for a 8kg weighted blanket.

It’s not likely you will find a weighted blanket similar to this one for such as low price.

In Argos, prices start at £40 and go up to a whopping £54.

In B&Q prices are a little more reasonable with smaller-size weighted blankets starting a £19.99 in price.

Amazon also sells weighted blankets for similar prices although the quality is not always guaranteed.

Bear in mind initial prices do not factor in a delivery charge.

Tips to stay warm this winter

There are plenty of other affordable ways you can stay warm this winter.

Get yourself a hot water bottle, they are always great for a cost-free way of keeping warm.

If you’ve got a few pennies to spare consider buying an electric blanket.

They are another great way to keep warm and most cost around 2p an hour to run.

Don’t forget about preventative measures, draught-proof your home and seal your windows to stop cold air from coming in.

Prices for draught excludes start from a fiver in most stores but a thick blanket rolled up next to a draughty door will work just as well.

Loft insulation is also very important as it can stop heat escaping, therefore slashing your heating bill.

You can buy insulation from all local builder merchants or retailers such as B&Q and Wickes.

In other news, Lidl shoppers “cannot live without” winter essential that will stop you from using heating & costs 1p an hour to run.

Tesco shoppers rush to buy kids cold weather essential scanning for £7 that can help keep heating off.

And B&M shoppers are flocking to buy winter gadget perfect for heating small spaces instead of turning the heating on.
