TESCO shoppers are going wild over a new Mr Kipling treat that has been just introduced in stores.

The supermarket is selling the Mr Kipling treat which is a strawberry cake inspired by Battenberg.

It is a new sponge cake sandwiched together with a strawberry-flavoured jam.

An excited shopper who found the new treat shared a picture on the Facebook group Food Finds UK official.

He wrote in the caption: “Now this I NEED to try.”

Fellow shoppers flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts on the new treat.

A third said: “OMG I will get one for sure.”

And Tesco is selling the new treat that goes perfectly with a cuppa for just £1.75 after using Clubcard.

Shoppers who don’t have a Tesco card will have to pay £2 to enjoy the treat.

It comes after the supermarket chain slashed the prices of the UK’s second-favourite chocolate bar.

The treat is so popular that a Co-op in Cambridge put the bar within plastic security cases.

The fan favourite Galaxy Smooth Milk bar has been reduced from £3.99 down to £2, placing the 360g morsel among some of the cheaper chocolate in the country.

That prices it at 56p for 100g of the sweet goodness.

If you’re hoping to nab one of these giant bars it is important to note that the deal is only open to Tesco Clubcard holders.

The smaller-sized Smooth Milk chocolate bar has also been reduced in size by maker Mars.

The bar has gone from 110g to 100g and costs up to £1.50.

The discounted chocolate bar news comes after the retailer left customers fuming over a major change that has cost them Clubcard points.

Tesco recently axed a survey site that rewarded customers with Clubcard points and a chance to win a £1,000 voucher.

In-store shoppers used to be given receipts urging them to visit tescoviews.com, to be in with the chance of winning a gift card, as well as earning an extra 25 Clubcard points.

But this week disappointed shoppers noticed that the retailer is no longer accepting survey responses through the site.

A notice at the address says it is instead reaching out directly to customers for their opinions, and it’s understood this will now be done via email.

What is Tesco Clubcard?

Tesco’s Clubcard scheme allows shoppers to earn points as they shop.

These points can then be turned into vouchers for money off food at the supermarket, or discounts at other places like restaurants and days out.

Each time you spend £1 in-store and online, you get one point when you scan your Clubcard.

Drivers using the loyalty card get one point for every two litres spent on fuel.

One point equals 1p, so 150 points gets you a £1.50 money-off voucher, for example.

You can double their worth when you swap them for discounts with “reward partners”.

For example, £12 worth of vouchers can be swapped for a £24 three-month subscription to Disney+.

Or you can swap 50p worth of points for £1 to spend at Hungry Horse pubs.

Where you can spend them changes regularly, and you can check on the Tesco website what’s available now.

Tesco shoppers can also get Clubcard prices when they have the loyalty card.

The discounted items change regularly and without a Clubcard you’ll pay a higher price.

These Clubcard prices are usually labelled on shelves, along with the non-member price.

But it’s worth noting that just because it’s discounted doesn’t necessarily make it the cheapest around, and you should compare prices to find the best deal.

You can sign up to get a Tesco Clubcard in store or online via the Tesco website.
