SHOPPERS go wild as another supermarket has revealed exact date it will be slashing the price of vegetables to just 15p ahead of Easter.

A major supermarket chain has cut down the cost of vegetables just in time for Easter lunch.

Lidl has announced that the price of veggies will go down to as little as 15p starting on Tuesday, March 26.

The bargain deal will last until the end of the week, and will see at least six different fresh pickings reduced to a dirt cheap price.

Shoppers can get their hands on green beans(220g), British carrots (1kg), British white potatoes (2kg), deluxe echalion shallots (300g), British swede (each) and spring onions (per bunch) for only 15p.

Until March 31, prices will remain at 15p which means you can save your cash for chocolate eggs and treats.

The deals start next week so you don’t need to worry about your veg going off before the big day.

Lidl isn’t the only supermarket to offer the deal – with Sainbury’s and Aldi also set to reduce the cost of veggies.

Aldi has slashed the prices of its most popular vegetables to 15p until March 30.

A spokesperson for the supermarket said: “Aldi work carefully with its suppliers to ensure that the incredible deals do not come at the cost of the growers.

“So, rest assured regardless of promotional activity in store, growers receive the same fair price as usual.

“Aldi’s Easter Super Seven deal will be available in stores from 26th – 30th March (26th – 31st March in Scottish stores).”

Sainsbury’s will see the same price drop on veggies like potatoes and carrots – but only for customers signed up for the loyalty scheme.

But the good news is you can sign up for the scheme for free via the Sainsbury’s website.

Sainsbury’s has outlined each of the discounts, which will be available from March 27 to 31.

Here’s the full list of offers:

  • by Sainsbury’s Carrots (1kg) – 15p with Nectar (65p without Nectar)
  • by Sainsbury’s Parsnips (500g) – 15p with Nectar (£1.30/kg without Nectar)
  • by Sainsbury’s White Potatoes (2kg) – 15p with Nectar (£1.29 without Nectar)
  • by Sainsbury’s Swede – 15p with Nectar (62p without Nectar)
  • by Sainsbury’s Savoy Cabbage – 15p with Nectar (69p without Nectar)

The full haul would cost you just 75p if you have a Nectar card, whereas you’d spend £3.90 without one.
