A bargain hunter uploaded a photo of the gorgeous bunch of faux peonies they bought and put in a vase on their table.

Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, they wrote: “Artificial peony bunches 30p at Wilko.”

Many people were quick to like the post, with one shopper writing: “Gorgeous.”

Wilko is to shut the doors of its last remaining stores on Sunday October 8 as the collapse of the historic retailer comes to a close.

The hardware and furnishings retailer tumbled into administration last month after it came under pressure from weak consumer spending and debts to suppliers.

The retailer will shut its final 111 stores in early October as part of the final phase of closures, administrators for PwC said.

But B&M and Poundland have purchased a handful of stores which could reopen in the future.

The Range last week snapped up the Wilko brand, including the name and website, in a £5million deal with administrators.

Now, a message on the Wilko website is promising customers that home delivery is “returning soon”.

Wilko was originally founded by James Kemsey Wilkinson in Leicester in 1930 and employed 12,500 workers before its collapse.
