NEXT has launched its massive summer sale and shoppers can get at least 50% off.

The fashion giant launched its sale online this week, which is usually an indicator it will launch across UK stores this weekend.

VIP Members get exclusive access before the sale is launched in store, and some have started to receive their early access slots.

Members are invited to sign up for the sale and book in a 45-minute shopping slot prior to the sale going live in stores.

An email to shoppers promises at least 50% off most Next sale items, and reductions on brands like Adidas, Nike, Ted Baker and Superdry.

According to posts on social media, this year’s big summer sale starts in-store on Saturday, July 8.

However, there has been lots of confusion online about when the sale starts and who gets access.

One bargain hunter posted in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group saying that she had managed to grab some deals but other shoppers were left confused.

One person commented: “I’m a VIP and can’t see anything other than clearance which is full of Xmas items.

And another said: “I work for Next and the sale is definitely not on yet.”

But another person added: “I have just ordered loads.”

And one person who said they work for Next commented: “I work at Next, the sale in store is July 8.

“This could be the clearance you’re seeing which is always online.”

The Sun has asked Next when the sale will launch online for non-VIP members and for confirmation on when it’ll launch in stores and will update the piece once we know more.

If you’re planning on waiting until the sale launches in store, you can find your nearest branch using the Next store locator.

Note that each store may have different opening hours, so it’s best to check with your local branch before going.

But usually on the day of Next sales, some stores open as early as 6am meaning eager shoppers can be queuing outside in the early hours of the morning.

How can I get a Next VIP slot?

To receive a VIP Sale invite you will need to have successfully opened a nextpay credit account ahead of any event.

So it’s too late to become a VIP for this event, but you can always sign up ahead of the next one.

Be careful when taking out a store card though.

Interest rates can be very high, so you need to make sure you can pay them off in full each month.

Otherwise, the amount paid in interest will counteract the savings you make in the sale.

Other requirements to become a Next VIP include:

  • Having a Next flexible credit account with at least £250 credit available
  • Placing and keeping an order from the Next Directory within the last year
  • Having an up to date email address registered with Next, and being registered to receive sale and promotional emails
  • Receiving a copy of the Next Directory
  • Returning less than two thirds of the items ordered

All VIP sale slots are granted on a first-come, first-served basis, and they’re restricted to one per customer.

Users have the best chance of getting amazing deals by accepting the first slot they’re allocated because things can sell out quickly.

And remember as with any sale it is only a saving if you are buying something that you were looking for anyway.

If you are just buying because something is discounted then you are not necessarily saving money.

Lots of retailers are giving big discounts in at the moment, Ikea has slashed prices by up to 60% in its big summer sale.

And discount retailer B&M also has up to 50% off home essentials at the moment.

Dunelm also had some big discounts on garden must-haves and Lidl has had shoppers rushing to buy its bargain egg chair that was the cheapest around.
