CUSTOMERS are pleading with Heinz to bring back a beloved retro item that was discontinued nearly a decade ago.

For many, the Heinz Toast Topper range was a staple in their childhood – making the discontinuation even more painful.

A fan recently posted a photo of the toast toppers and gushed: “Ooh I wish you could still get these!”

Other fans quickly shared how much they miss the iconic flavours, ranging from mushroom and bacon to ham and cheese.

The popular product had creamy Heinz flavoured soup toppings which could be spread across toast and grilled until bubbly.

But the beloved snack was discontinued in 2015, leaving many fans wanting more.

One fan went as far as setting up a petition online to bring back the Toast Toppers, and garnered 800 signatures.

A fan commented: “Love them wish you could still get them x.”

Another piped in: “What a treat!”

But the toast toppers weren’t everyone’s cup of tea, with many saying the topping reminded them of “cat sick”.

One fan said: “I thought they tasted horrible and looked like sick.”

But many fans are still begging Heinz to bring back the iconic snack which has great memories.

Fan Anastasia said: “Please bring back Toast Toppers, life just isn’t the same without them.”

Heinz replied and said: “Sorry, but there are no current plans to bring them back. Will let our team know how much they are missed for you.”

Earlier this year the food giant did bring back a 1990s favourite -their Beanz Pizza.

The iconic Heinz Beanz Pizza returned exclusively to Iceland stores last November after disappearing for almost 20 years.

One shopper said: “They had these in the 90’s and I loved them! So happy they are back.”

A fellow shopper commented: “I used to love a baked bean pizza when I was a teen”, while another said: “Takes me back. I loved these”.

Not all customers were as impressed, however.
