DEVASTATED shoppers fear gifts may not arrive in time for Christmas from big high street shops, despite some ordering in November.

Customers have hit social media to complain about delayed or cancelled packages from shops including JD Sports, Disney, Sports Direct and Footasylum.

One customer from JD Sports took to Twitter to vent they had placed an order weeks ago but has been left waiting for their delivery.

They said: “So so poor. There is absolutely no excuse.

“We can’t go out and you can’t deliver! FAIL.”

Another shopper called JD Sports an “absolute joke” after saying they had ordered their haul on the 6th December, only to be told it was out of stock three days before Christmas day.

They were given a refund.

Sports Direct customers have been left in the lurch too, wondering whether they’ll be able to give their loved ones presents on Christmas Day.

One shopper who spoke to The Sun said he had ordered presents for his girlfriend on the 8th December, only to be told this week that the delivery had been “lost in transit”.

After asking for the order to be resent and delivery to be fast tracked so it would arrive in time for Christmas Eve, Sports Direct have still not confirmed whether this will happen.

“I’m still hopeful that it will arrive in time, however, I’ll be disappointed if it doesn’t,” he said. “This was supposed to be her main present from me so obviously it would be nice for it to arrive!”

Another customer fumed on Twitter that her grandson won’t receive his present after her Sports Direct parcel failed to deliver.

One shopper said BOTH her orders ordered from JD Sports and Footasylum had been lost.

“Absolutely appalling customer service from both,” she said. “Have made a mental note never to order from either of them again.”

Disney shoppers have been facing similar problems too.

Another shopper accused the shop of “ruining” Christmas after their parcel, which they said they ordered on the 10th December, has been missing.

Another customer was left raging that his package might not arrive in time, even though they claimed they had ordered their haul in mid November.

“Way to disappoint a 3 year old,” they said.

“Disney makes unhappiness.”

A spokesperson for JD said: “We apologise to anyone who has experienced issues with their order and we would like to reassure everyone that we are doing all we possibly can to meet their requirements in the run up to Christmas.”

Footasylum, Sports Direct and Disney were contacted for comment.

It marks the latest in a series of delivery woes that shoppers up and down the country have faced in the run up to Christmas.

Asda and Sainsbury’s customers were furious earlier this week after finding turkeys and other festive foods were missing from their online deliveries .

And DHL suspended road services into the UK on Monday amid the travel chaos ban, putting Christmas cargo under threat.
