YOU might be able to score a home essential at Asda for a huge discount.
While the retailer is mainly known for its groceries, fans can find other products to supplement their households.
And the latter category might be worth checking out because an Asda shopper, who goes by Michelle Castledine, claims to have found twin packs of duvet sets that were discounted to 50p each.
In a Facebook post through the Extreme Couponing and Bargains group, she showed off four finds, spending just a total of £2.
These were mostly George Home brand sets, which included a few different child theme varieties such as Pinocchio, race cars and cartoonish monsters.
While we couldn’t find one of the exact varieties online that Michelle found, Asda does sell a Peppa Pig example for £16.
Some other similar children’s themes including a Sonic option made by Geroge Home can be found online for the same price as well.
Considering the sets cost £16 each, that would represent savings of more than £60 in Michelle’s case.
Fan reactions
Some shoppers who saw the deal were wowed by it.
One fan in response to the post said: “That’s [a] really good bargain why can’t they do this by me.”

Another said: “wtf these prices are crazy.”
And a third wrote: “absolutely no chance in Inverness or Elgin!!!! They never have any of the bargains every other asda has!!!!”
How to find the deals
To find similar offers, keep in mind that you might need to check your local Asda.
The deal above on the home essential appears to be an in-store offering only.
But a good way to check is looking to see if it has a markdown sticker.
For example, Michelle’s finds had yellow a red stickers.
Other ways to save at Asda
In addition to looking for discount stickers, there are other things you’ll want to keep in mind to save money at the store.
First, know that Asda has a rewards program.
Once signed up for it, you can scan your digital card through the Asda Rewards app to start earning credits.
If possible, you’ll want to look for the yellow star product icon on the app, as these will give you “Cashpot” boost that’s equal to 10% of the product’s price.
When redeeming, the Cashpot can be converted into vouchers.
To find one of the 630-plus Asda locations, you can use its store locator tool.
And as always make sure you compare prices.
This can be done through platforms including Google shopping.
