Their stores are packed with cheap essentials and goodies.

MaxiSaver – whose slogan is “big brands, best prices” – sells around 6,000 products that range in price from 29p to £59.99.

On its website, MaxiSaver describes itself as a “new name in convenience shopping” with “well branded stock at affordable prices”.

They currently have 13 stores across the UK – and they claims another 20 stores will open  by the end of the year.

It comes as Wilko stores will soon become a distant memory on the British high street after more than 90 years.

The beloved retailer tumbled into administration on August 10 before a flurry of potential buyers expressed an interest.

But sadly, a buyer for the whole business couldn’t be found and it has since been announced that all 400 shops will close by October.

As a result, thousands of Wilko employees will be made redundant.

Administrators have agreed the sale of the retailer’s brand name and website to The Range, so the name will live on elsewhere.

All shops will be closing in the coming weeks and the list of confirmed closures has been growing, with a total of 176 locations named so far.
