HUNDREDS of furious Santander customers struggled to log into their accounts this morning after the bank suffered an outage.
More than 1,000 customers could not log into their accounts through online banking and mobile app services from 5.30am this morning, according to complaints tracking website Downdetector.

However, the outage has since been fixed, Santander told The Sun – meaning you should be able to access your cash as normal.
Over half of customers were reporting problems logging into their mobile banking account, 24% could not get onto their online banking account and 23% had mobile app login issues.
Angry customers took to social media to complain about the service crisis, with many unable to make bank payment transfers or view their balance.
One said: “What’s wrong with the app? Can’t log on”.
Another tweeted: “When will your app be fixed” while another commented: “Why is your app constantly down with [me] being stuck on the loading screen then [it] crashing!”
And another raged: “It happens that much I am considering moving banks.”
A Santander spokesperson said: “We’re very sorry for the inconvenience while we fixed the issues some customers experienced earlier this morning.
“Our services are now available as usual but there may be delays to some card payments showing on customers’ accounts.”
If you had trouble getting onto your account this morning, you might be able to get compensation.
Banks do not have a fixed compensation scheme for service disruption, unlike telecoms companies.
However, depending on how much a bank service crash has affected you, you could be entitled to money back.
It is worth gathering evidence of your problems so you can make a formal complaint to Santander directly.
Try to make a note of when you were unable to access the website or app, plus any costs you incurred as a result.
If your credit rating has been affected by a service outage, because you got a late payment fee after being unable to make a transaction, for example, you should also keep a record of this.
If you spoke to anyone to try and resolve the problem, make a note of their name and when you spoke to them, as well as roughly what you discussed and what they advised you to do.

The bank also regularly updates its social media so Facebook and Twitter are worth checking for live updates.
You can also check websites such as DownDetector, which will tell you whether other people are experiencing problems with a particular company online.
Santander customers aren’t the only ones who have had issues with recent outages.
Lloyds, Halifax and the Bank of Scotland’s online banking systems went down earlier this month, leaving customers unable to access money.
While in October, Barclays and NatWest customers were raging after a service crash meant there couldn’t do online banking either.
It came as HSBC customers also reported issues logging onto their accounts that month too.
