Samsungs newest MicroLED TVs will start at $80,000

The MicroLED TV will come in three different sizes including 110 inches, 101 inches, and 89 inches, according to a Samsung press release.

The smallest of the models will reportedly start at an eye-watering $80,000, according to several tech media outlets, including Tech Spot.

The massive price tag seems to be in line with Samsung’s previous MicroLED models — the 2021 110-inch TV went for more than $150,000.

Samsung said last month that its 2022 TV lineup, which also includes the Neo QLD and Lifestyle series, are intended to “bring the vision of ‘Screens Everywhere, Screens for All’ closer to reality with life-like images, immersive sound, and hyper-personalized experiences.”

The prices of the new MicroLED TV models reflect the state-of-the-art technology used to create them.

MicroLED uses micrometer-sized LED lights that self-illuminate, producing light and color from its own pixel structure which in turn creates amazing contrast and ‘perfect’ blacks.

As the technology is inorganic, it is also longer-lasting compared to OLED TVs.

The 2022 MicroLED TVs will come equipped with several clever features, such as “Art Mode,” which allows consumers to display their favorite artworks on the TV screen and create the appearance of an art gallery.

The 2022 model will also come with two exclusive media pieces from noted artist and designer Refik Anadol, according to Samsung.

Another feature of the TV, which is called “Multi View,” allows users to view content from four different sources (including any of all of the four HDMI ports) simultaneously.

Furthermore, the MicroLED TV’s audio system is incomparable as it delivers sound from the top, side, and bottom channel speakers for “breathtaking, multi-dimensional sound,” via Dolby Atmos, Samsung said.

And because the TV supports a 20-bit greyscale depth it offers very fine control over the brightness and color levels.
