SAMSUNG is preparing to release a bumper load of free upgrades to millions of phones very soon.

The company’s bespoke version of Android, called One UI 6.1, will come to four device lines.

A lot of the big new features are AI powered as we saw with the Samsung Galaxy S24 launch in January.

But you won’t be able to get all the fancy new features.

One UI 6.1 was recently rolled out to Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Now it’s headed to the Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and the Galaxy Tab S8 series.

Browsing Assist

Browsing Assist is ideal for creating a summary of a web page or article.

It uses AI to read everything and shorten the key details for you.

Chat Assist

Chat Assist instantly translates any messages in another language for you.

This can be used on messages you receive or to translate any message you wish to send.

It supports 13 languages for now:

  • Chinese
  • English (India, United Kingdom, United States)
  • French
  • German
  • Hindi
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Polish
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Spanish (Mexico, Spain, United States)
  • Thai
  • Vietnamese

Arabic, Indonesian and Russian, as well as three new dialects – Australian English, Cantonese and Canadian French – are launching soon this spring.

Translation works with Samsung’s keyboard in its own Messages app and WhatsApp.

Circle to Search

Circle to Search is a brand new Android feature that works with Google search.

The tool lets you circle anything on your screen and search it.

So it could be a famous face in a video or a scarf you spot in a photo.

AI generated wallpaper

The AI generated wallpaper feature allows you to create just about anything without doing all the hard work.

Within the wallpaper settings, you get to select categories and keywords that will produce a unique wallpaper for you.

How to set an AI generated wallpapers on Samsung

  1. Pinch the home screen
  2. Tap on Wallpaper and style
  3. Tap Change wallpapers
  4. Tap Generative

Edit suggestion

AI can change your writing tone style instantly with the Samsung Keyboard.

So you can change a formal message into something more relaxed for friends.

It also will make grammar and spelling corrections.

Generative edit

AI is used for advanced photo editing features.

This includes the ability to remove unwanted objects with greater accuracy.

Interpreter

No more language barriers on holiday.

The Interpreter mode translates a conversation in real-time for you.

Live Translate

Live Translate is there to translate your phone calls too.

It not only enables you to hear your mother tongue, but will play back what you say to the other person in their language too.

Note Assist

Never mess your notes again.
