Last week, one India-based customer took to Twitter to raise the issue.

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra user tweeted: “My dad installed a software update on his Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G yesterday… and these lines started appearing on the display from today morning.

@SamsungIndia please look into this matter and get it fixed.”

The user later confirmed that Samsung has replaced the screen and the battery, free of charge, despite it being outside of its warranty period.

According to the affected user, the issue arose shortly after installing the June 2023 update.

It’s unclear whether this is a software hang-up or hardware issue with the OLED screen.

There has been no official statement from Samsung regarding the issue yet.

It wasn’t long before other customers reported experiencing a similar issue with their phones, following the install of the latest update, one of which being the Galaxy S21.

Even phones from other brands that have Samsung Display’s OLED screens have also showcased this problem, Sam Mobile first reported.

There are no other reports of Samsung offering to replace the screens of other affected devices.

However, Samsung’s customer service has been quick to get in contact with customers who have complained about the issue on social media.

The Sun has contacted Samsung for comment.
