SAINSBURY’S shoppers can get groceries delivered in 30 minutes in a new tie-up with Just Eat.
The supermarket will start offering the speedy delivery at 175 stores from the end of February.

Locations where you’ll be able to get a 30 minute shopping delivery include London, Edinburgh and Bristol.

The supermarket said it plans to roll out the service to more cities this year.
Asda groceries are already available on Just Eat after launching a trial on the platform in 2019.

You can already get a Sainsbury’s shop delivered to your door the same day using Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
Delivery from both apps can be in as little as 20 minutes but the exact time can depend on traffic and if there are riders available.

The cost of delivery can depend on where you are and what time you order, but you’ll generally pay a fee of a couple of pounds for delivery and around £1 for service.
Deliveroo Plus is a monthly subscription costing £11.49, which entitles members to free delivery on orders over £10.
If you have this, then you won’t usually pay any extra for ordering groceries.
Sainsbury’s also offers it’s own on-demand delivery service called Chop Chop in around 15 areas, delivering up to 25 items in 60 minutes.
Delivery via Chop Chop costs £4.99 and there’s a minimum spend of £15.
The supermarket also does standard grocery deliveries through it’s own website – but these are for further ahead rather than same day.
The cost varies depending on the time you choose, or you can fork out for a delivery pass which covers drop offs for one month, six months or a year.
Pass costs range from £4 for a monthly mid-week pass up to £80 for 12 months and anytime delivery, and you’ll also have to spend a minimum of £40.
Supermarkets sped up plans for same delivery during the Covid pandemic in response to the huge demand for home shopping – but not all have lasted.
Aldi ditched its partnership with Deliveroo last year ending quick shops at 129 stores.
Meanwhile Aldi is also making a major change to it’s website that means shoppers won’t be able to buy Specialbuys for delivery.
