SAINSBURY’S has launched a massive sale on clothes, and prices start from just £1.20.
The sale is running across womenswear, menswear and kid’s clothing and almost everything has up to 50% off – but we’ve spotted some items that have been reduced even further.

The clothes are reduced for clearance so stock is limited and won’t be replaced when they sell out.
It also means some products are already running extremely low, with only one size left in most cases.
The sale is for selected items only but it does run across five different departments within Sainsbury’s TU collection.
You can nab the major discounts online but the prices may vary when you hit the same items in store.
You will have to bear in mind the extra cost of £3.95 that will come with having your online order delivered though.
How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
Here are some that we recommend:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
- Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
- Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
- CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
But if you spend over £20 then the click and collect service is free or alternatively, you can use Sainsbury’s locator tool in the meantime to find your closest store.
It’s also worth mentioning you should shop around first, as just because something is on offer or is part of a deal, it doesn’t make it a great bargain.

Women’s knitted gloves 2 pack

This set of two gloves is the cheapest thing on offer in Sainsbury’s sale right now.
They are machine washable and come in the classic black and grey colours shown.
H&M has a sale on gloves too at the moment and you can pick up a very similar two-pack for only £3 slashed down from nearly £5.
The gloves are £1.80 more expensive than Sainsbury’s option though so you wont save any more money elsewhere.
Men’s bright sport motif socks 5 pack

You can get five pairs of socks in this £3.50 pack and each one has a sport motif design on.
The pack works out to be 70p per pair and you’ll be set for almost every day of the week as each one comes in a different colour.
From the Essentials Wardrobe you can buy a pack with an extra pair included for only £2.99 though, so you’ll save 51p overall and each pair is about 20p cheaper too with this option.
Women’s long sleeve top

This women’s top is an online exclusive and one of the cheapest in the ongoing sale, there aren’t very many sizes left in this green colour though.
The long sleeve top is made from pure cotton to be extra snug and breathable.
On New Look’s website you can pick up a similar style top in the sale for only £4, it’s 65p more expensive than Sainsbury’s but another good option if you want to check out more colours and variety.
Men’s shirt 2 pack

These shirts in Sainsbury’s two-pack are designed to be easy to iron, plus they’re made from a special blend of cotton and polyester.
At Asda you can pick up a men’s five-pack of plain long-sleeve shirts for £28, but that works out to be £5.60 per shirt which is cheaper than Sainsbury’s pack of two overall.
In Sainsbury’s pack each shirt works out to be only £4.25 though which is £1.35 cheaper per shirt, so you’ll have to weigh up how many shirts you need in total so not to go over budget.
Boy’s denim shirt

This boy’s denim shirt comes in a vintage wash made from pure cotton.
The shirt has a button-through front with a collar, two chest pockets and long sleeves for the perfect smart-casual look.
You can buy a boy’s retro looking denim shirt from H&M but it will cost you nearly £9 more as the style is £12.99.
Girl’s blue broderie anglaise detail T-shirt

This girl’s t-shirt is made from pure cotton with a crew neck, short frilly sleeves and a broderie anglaise detail to the shoulders which gives it a pretty finish for the bargain price.
This top will fit girls up to age seven, but Matalan has a five-pack of a similar style for the same age range for £10.
The pack works out to be £2 per top so you won’t save any money opting for it over Sainsbury’s price, but you will be buying a lot more variety which is only useful if you need that many tops in one go.
Boy’s graphic T-shirt

This classic crew neck t-shirt is a great bargain for your little one.
The t-shirt comes in sizes aged three all the way up to 13, but the top is currently sold out from age 10 upward because of the sale demand.
You’ll be able to buy a kid’s plain black t-shirt from M&S for only £2.50 but even though you’ll save 50p, you won’t get the funky graphic print that Sainsbury’s has.
Women’s tan lace-up Derby shoes

There’s even shoes in the TU sale, and this pair has been reduced twice, first the £20 tag was slashed down to £10 then an extra £4 came off after that.
The lace-up style shoes come with an extra padded insock, arch support, and lightweight flexible sole.
At the moment there’s only a size five and seven left in the shoes so you’ll have to be quick to snap this deal up.
You can buy a similar style from Next but the fashion retailer’s choice will cost you an extra £34 more as the look-alike pair is £40.

Sainsbury’s offered major discounts on groceries too last bank holiday with 25% off bottles of booze, and the deal looks set to return this weekend as well.
