SAINSBURY’S is creating 22,000 new seasonal jobs for over the Christmas period.
The retailer will be hiring new staff in Sainsbury’s and Argos stores across the UK.

Seasonal Sainsbury’s and Argos staff will help throughout the store, serving customers, keeping shelves stocked and picking, packing and delivering online orders.
There will be 14,500 Sainsbury’s and Argos roles available in stores, including 500 Customer and Trading Manager positions.
There are also 3,000 online delivery driver positions on offer, as well as 4,500 warehouse and logistics openings which include agencies and third parties.
There are also 180 Contact Centre opportunities.
The jobs have been launched four weeks earlier than last year, to help new hires settle in before the Christmas rush.
Sainsbury’s is also introducing a new incentive payment to recruit more Argos and groceries Online delivery drivers for the festive season.
New and existing drivers can earn up to an additional £500 for fulfilling shifts over the busy Christmas period.
Temporary workers will have their roles until January 8 2022 on fixed term contracts of between three and 12 weeks.

You can search for “Christmas” to bring up the temp jobs available and then filter by location or type of role.
We saw hundreds of positions available on the website, with pay starting at around £9.50 per hour.
Sainsbury’s is also offering extra hours to existing staff members who may want extra work in the run up to Christmas.
Government business minister, Paul Scully said: “These 22,000 jobs being created across the country mean more opportunities for workers and even better service for customers – enough to give Father Christmas some serious competition.”

We expect to see other major supermarkets and retailers also advertising job roles in the run up to Christmas.
