WITH Christmas around the corner, Sainsbury’s shoppers will need to check when the stores are open around the festive period.
The hours that supermarkets open and close over the holiday period will be different from the opening times shoppers are familiar with.
Sainsbury’s has introduced longer opening hours as part of new measures encouraging customers to shop early and shop safely ahead of the festive season this year.
Between December 21 and 23, 90 per cent of Sainsbury’s supermarkets will extend their opening hours from 6am until midnight.

Most Sainsbury’s stores will open from 6am on Christmas Eve so that shoppers can get their last bits before the big day.
Stores will close at 7pm on Christmas Eve.

Sainsbury’s is open again on Boxing Day with reduced hours – with some stores open from 9am to 9pm.
And then from December 27 until New Year’s Eve, most stores are open from 7am until 9pm.
