Royal Mail has been struck by a wave of allegations about bullying after The Mail on Sunday revealed last week that its new boss is attempting to stamp out the problem.
After Simon Thompson vowed to stop bullying ‘at source’ among its 140,000-strong workforce, employees came forward to speak out.

Drivers at Royal Mail-owned Parcelforce alleged that software used to inform customers of delivery times has been used to impose unmanageable workloads.

Several people claimed that part-time employees were being asked to work full-time hours without the accompanying benefits.
One said they had been ‘horrifically bullied’ at a delivery office and had ‘never really recovered’.
Another said: ‘Bullying has been endemic for years. The worst aspect was the people prepared to turn a blind eye.’ A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: ‘We have a zero-tolerance policy to bullying and will thoroughly investigate all alleged instances.’
Parcelforce said drivers with increased workloads were ‘compensated accordingly’.
