With just two weeks to go until Christmas Day is finally here, cafe and supermarket shelves are stocked full of festive sandwiches.

From brie and cranberry to veggie nut roast, there’s something to suit almost every palate.

But what would be in the perfect Christmas sandwich?

MailOnline’s Femail team claims that Asda’s Festive Feast is the number one sandwich, but we decided to see what ChatGPT had to say on the matter.

So, would you order the AI bot’s festive offering?

To help unravel the mystery of the ultimate festive sandwich, MailOnline simply asked ChatGPT: ‘What is in the perfect Christmas sandwich?’

Within seconds, the bot began typing out its answer, diplomatically saying that the perfect sandwich ‘can vary based on personal preferences.’

However, it eventually landed on six key ingredients.

Unsurprisingly, the bot says that Roast Turkey – either sliced from the leftover Christmas turkey or freshly roasted – is the number one ingredient in the sandwich.

Stuffing and cranberry sauce are next up on the list.

‘Traditional sage and onion stuffing add a flavorful and festive touch,’ ChatGPT explained.

‘A generous spread of cranberry sauce adds sweetness and complements the turkey.’

Meanwhile, what good Christmas sandwich would be complete without a drizzle of gravy?

ChatGPT claims that this element is crucial for ‘extra moisture and flavor.’

Of course, bread features on the list, with ChatGPT suggesting a ‘hearty, rustic bread or a soft roll to hold all the ingredients togeter.’

And finally, the AI bot suggests a somewhat unusual element – cheese.

‘Optional, but some people like to add a slice of brie or a mild cheese to balance the flavors,’ it explained.

You might be shouting at your screen, wondering where your favourite ingredients are.

However, ChatGPT reassures that the ultimate sandwich can be customised with other Christmas leftovers or additional ingredients.

‘You can also add elements like sliced ham, bacon, or a layer of Brussels sprouts for a unique twist,’ it added.

‘The key is to capture the festive flavors of Christmas in each bite.’

The Christmas sandwich creation comes shortly after ChatGPT attempted to rank the items on a Full English Breakfast.

Coming out in the top spot was crispy bacon, which ChatGPT called a ‘key element’ in the English breakfast.

This was followed by eggs, with ChatGPT suggesting fried or scrambled would suffice.

‘Fried or scrambled eggs are a crucial part of the meal and add protein,’ the bot explained.

The third most important element is pork sausages, which ‘contribute to the heartiness of the breakfast and are a substantial element,’ according to ChatGPT.

Meanwhile, good old-fashioned toast came in fourth place.
