A TECHNOLOGY expert has revealed the real risk he thinks people using AI are facing and has urged that humanity as a whole must be careful.

Adrian Kunzle, chief technology officer at leading data platform Own, exclusively told The U.S. Sun his positive and negative views on artificial intelligence.

Kunzle started by explaining how AI could be extremely beneficial.

“I can cite some examples that I think are an absolutely fantastic use of AI,” he said.

“When you’re dealing with data that’s absolute and not in question like MRIs and medical imaging, the ability for AI to detect cancers better than doctors can has already been proven as incredibly valid.”

He went on to highlight how “human input” into the data can sometimes be risky as well as using old data to train AI.

“There is real risk in using historical data sets for training things because there is real bias in historical data,” he said.

“So, those are really important subjects for us to think about.”

AI adopting harmful human biases and perpetuating them is a concern that’s been raised by other experts.

A new study recently revealed how artificial intelligence can make humans make biased decisions.

In a release describing the research, concerns are raised that humans are at “risk of getting trapped in a dangerous loop.”

Kunzle also warned that we’re right at the start of AI being adopted by companies.

With that in mind, experts still don’t know what the real impact of AI will be.

“I think we’re right at the start of it. We have so much to learn,” Kunzle said.

“We need to be careful. We absolutely need to be careful about people’s privacy and their data.”

He suggested corporate data is a good space to start using AI software.

However, he suggested not using AI on personal data just yet.
