FINALLY Pokémon has brought justice to Dunsparce, by giving our lad a new evolution.
It’s powerful as well, and its new signature attack means that it might even be viable for competitive play.

However, it’s not that easy to evolve, so you might be wondering how.
We’ve got you sorted. Here’s all the info you need in order to evolve Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
Where to find Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Dunsparce can be found in most areas of Paldea, but it’s a rare spawn making it difficult to find.
There’s a fairly consistent spot you can find one though, in a rocky outcropping to the west of Artazon.
It appears more frequently here as it is a wild Terastalized spawn, which is easier to get to appear.
Sneak up on it to initiate the battle. If you run into it in the overworld, it will burrow underground when you get too close.
Dunsparce has a fairly high catch rate, so once you encounter it, catching it shouldn’t be too difficult.
How to evolve Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
In order to evolve Dunsparce you first need to level it up to level 32.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have the built XP share so it will gain experience, even if it’s just in your party.
It will gain more experience if it enters battle, but will still get some experience if you catch a Pokémon.
Raids also reward you with experience candy, which can be used to quickly level up your Pokémon.
How to learn Hyper Drill in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
At level 32, Dunsparce can learn its signature move Hyper Drill. This is needed in order to evolve it.
Hyper Drill is a 100 power / 100 accuracy attack that can break through Detect and Protect, making it extremely powerful.
If you missed teaching Hyper Drill, you can still teach it through the select moves panel in the menu.
Once your Dunsparce knows Hyper Drill, level it up once more for it to evolve.
