PLAYSTATION gamers will no longer have to type out passwords again as the gaming mega-firm has announced a major change.
Console-makers Sony have told their loyal fans that a new piece of tech will make the process much easier.
When logging into your account having to remember and type out a long password can be a real pain.
But now, the gaming community can rejoice as a free update from Sony will introduce an all new passkey support system.
Essentially, users will now be able to sign in using their phone or computer with a screen unlocking method – in the same way they use their fingerprint or face to unlock your mobile.
To set up the swish new service, you should take the following steps on your console.

First, head to your security settings, which will be under the Account Management option – once there you can select the option to create a passkey by following the on-screen instructions, reports engadget.
However, the firm did let gamers know that a couple of stumbling blocks – like hardware security keys – could get in the way of the set-up and offered advice should that happen.
They explained that it could be a more seamless process by using synced passkeys on mobile devices instead.
They recommended using iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, 1Password and Dashlane as a passkey provider – and to avoid using Android synced passkeys.

The fancy new service will prompt users to use their passkey whenever they log into their account – on either the PS4 or PS5 – but is not mandatory and can be turned off at any time.
It’s not the only news the console’s fans might want to be in-the-know about.
