It’s safe to say that PlayStation is suffering a wide-spread issue, and that the issue is not just a few fringe cases.
The issue might not affect every single console depending on the servers for your region, so you should check your own PS5 first.
What features on PlayStation are affected by the outage?
All online features are currently down, which includes a large number of features that people use to use their PS5s.
The PlayStation Store is down meaning players are unable to purchase games or download games they’ve already purchased.

This includes people trying to download new games such as the new Final Fantasy 16: Echoes of the Fallen which shadow-dropped at The Game Awards last night.
Online games should also be affected so you won’t be able to play games like Call of Duty online.
When will PlayStation servers go back online?
The PlayStation outage is not due to scheduled maintenance, and is likely due to too many people trying to use online features.
As such players will just have to wait until PlayStation fixes the error which could take several hours.
