BENEFIT claimants just noticed they can get a day out for £1 – and it could be lovely this half term.
Those on Universal Credit, Pension Credit or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) can each claim the deal.
RHS Gardens is offering £1 tickets to those on certain benefits.
There are over 200 gardens across the UK and tickets normally cost £33.95 for a family of two adults and two children.
That means you’d be saving a maximum £29.95 if you bought four tickets.
You can use the £1 discount for as many as six people at once, but you’ll need to show evidence that you receive one of the three benefits upon arrival.
The deal, which was shared to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, was a hit with many.
One put: “Went yesterday nice few hours out.”
And another simply said: “sounds great.”
You can buy your ticket at the door, or you can visit the website and book in advance.

Other freebies and discounts you can get on certain benefits
Cheap gym memberships
Some councils offer discounted gym memberships to people on benefits.
How much of a discount you’ll get will depend on your local council (you can find yours using the government’s locator tool).
To apply, you’ll need to go through your local leisure centre, but first you should check whether they offer a discount.
Some chains like YMCA, Nuffield and GLL offer concessionary memberships.
Free prescriptions
Prescriptions could be free for you as well if you’re on certain benefits – as long as you or your partner are in receipt of certain benefits or you’re under 20 and dependent on someone claiming certain benefits.
These include, among others, Income Support, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit and Universal Credit.
You can also get free wigs and fabric support through the scheme and travel to health appointments.
Council tax reductions
If you claim Universal Credit, you could also ask for a reduction on your council tax bill.
The discount you’ll get will vary depending on your situation, though.
But in some cases, people have had their bills wiped completely.
Some people who can get a reduction include single people, retirees, low income households and second homes and empty properties.
Check out if you can get a council tax reduction in our guide.
Water bill support
And if you’re claiming Universal Credit, Housing Benefit or Income Support you may also be eligible for a water bill cap.
It’s through the WaterSure scheme which puts a cap on bills for low income customers.
It could see your bills drop by £270 as well.
To qualify for the scheme you need to have a water meter already installed and you’ll have to prove you already use a lot of water.
