The feature means your wallpaper will change every time you lock your iPhone.

It’s perfect for when you can’t decide what photos to have as your wallpaper.

You can select an array of your favourite wallpapers, photos of friends and family or pets.

The best part is that you can have a library of multiple background designs at the ready, so that with each wallpaper comes a new slideshow of images.

To do this, simply follow these steps:

  • Long press on your lock screen
  • Then swipe right and press the blue plus button
  • Next click the Photo Shuffle option at the top of the screen
  • Click Choose Photos and select your images of choice
  • Press Add
  • Then go down to the three dots in the bottom right hand corner
  • Select On Lock
  • Then click Add
  • Finally, press Set As Wallpaper Pair

Then you’ll be good to go.

You can repeat this for as many different wallpapers as you want.

But it should be noted, this feature is only compatible on iPhones with the latest iOS software.

iOS 16, which was rolled out in September last year, is not available for iPhone SEs, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple usually cuts off support for older devices with its newest updates.

More customisations to come

The tech giant’s iOS 17 is just around the corner, pegged to be unveiled alongside the iPhone 15 launch around September this year.

Apple is yet to confirm the official date.

Rumours have it that Apple is about to make iPhones even more customisable with iOS 17.

This includes customisable font sizes, as well as the ability to share your custom lock screen designs with other iPhone users, according to a report from TechRadar, which cited a long-time Apple leaker.

But following Apple’s usual path, those with an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and an iPhone X are expected to be left in the dark when it comes to the new big update.
